Y Mor - welsh for the sea, a mix of aquas.
72% mohair, 22% silk
Laceweight / brushed 1ply.
Each skein is 50g in weight & contains 420m of yarn.
This mohair silk blend is gorgeous to work with. Exceptionally soft, with a beautiful fluffy look. These are a brushed 1 ply, but are best treated as a 2ply laceweight. This gives the yarn change to bloom and fluff up.
Second photo shows the coordinating skeins of 2ply merino bamboo in the same colourway. Held together these can be used to substitute for a 4ply weight yarn. The kidsilk will give a beautiful fluffy haze to any garment, and adds an extra element of warmthm while the merino bamboo adds strength and body.
Ideal to team with another yarn to give a weighter fabric, but with all the lovely fluffy look of the mohair. There are yarns in this same colourway in laceweight, 4ply or dk on a range of bases.
Each skein is hand dyed in my home in North Wales. We are smoke free, but we do have a dog, although he's not generally allowed to play with the yarn! I use professional acid dyes which are fixed and thoroughly rinsed. Please note though that some colour bleed may occur on the first wash, especially with darker colours.
All skeins are dyed in small batches and I cannot guarantee the colour will be exactly from batch to batch. Please purchase enough to finish your project. If there is not sufficient quantity listed please get in touch. Most of my colourways are repeatable & can be dyed for you in a larger batch should you require it. It is advisable to alternated skeins within a project to minimise any small differences between skeins, even from the same batch.
I try my best to get colours accurate but please do allow a little leeway for monitor and screen differences.
